With China, India, South Korea and Japan, Asia is the world’s leading production hub. But the rapid production of goods is taking a toll on the environment around us. With the current ‘take-make-waste’ economic model, our Earth’s natural resources are depleting at an unprecedented rate. Mountains of trash are being dumped into landfills all over the planet. But it does not have to stay that way.
By adopting more circular approaches in our economy – from the manufacturing and production process to how we treat and dispose waste – we believe that Asia is the powerhouse that can change our global economy to be a much more sustainable one.
While Circular Asia calls Singapore our home base, the reach of our work is regional. Our programmes are developed to teach the circular economy to all in the region and to understand the specific struggles that Asian economies and societies face in the transition to the circular economy. Circular Asia may soon expand to other regional offices in Asia.

We are located inside the Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre, a community that empowers and inspires youth to make a positive impact.

Our space is fully decorated with boards, decals and ornaments that drive the message of sustainability, from a special diagram explaining the circular economy to a display of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
